If you are not getting the best retention, this is for you.

From Spring to summer autumn to winter the environment around you changes therefore the way you apply your eyelash extensions needs to be adjusted.

Why is it so important to check the humidity?

Quite simply humidity affects how quickly the glue will dry. If it's too humid the glue dry too quickly, and will not give the strongest possible bond.

The glue will have the strongest bond when it's wet or at its wettest as soon as it starts to harden and dry the bond is weakened because it's already starting to harden. So if you can imagine that your environment is too dry the glue will dry too slowly and then extremely drying environment not having enough moisture in the air can affect the strength of the bond.

But there are solutions!!

Firstly if you haven't got a hygrometer get one!! These measure the humidity levels in the room that you're lashing.

Secondly ensure the glue that you've got suits the pace of your work. If you're choosing a quicker glue insure that you're able to keep up with the drying time if you take for example Scarlet or Meadow which has a 1 to 2 second drying time if you're taking longer than that to apply the glue it will have already started drying. It will have a much weaker bond because the glue although it will still adhere after 2 seconds won't be so strong.

If your room is dry add more humidity with a humidifier if you're working in a humid environment use a dehumidifier.

Primer/PH Balancer

Our primer isn't any ordinary primer! It doesn't dry out the natural lash. As part of your pre-treatment routine, this product aids with the retention of lash extensions by PH balancing the natural lashes. The natural lash primer is also a PH balancer that has the perfect balance of alcohol to prep and clean lashes correctly for lash extensions correctly without drying them out.

Don't be a dirty girty!

The glue needs a clean lash to grab on to! If the eyelash isn't clean and has residue that will create a barrier between the glue and the eyelash that will create a weakened bond you will immediately have a retention issues.

User cleanser or a lash shampoo prepare your client's lashes before each and every full set or in fill. Washing between every eyelash right down to the eyelid, rinse well with water or saline and gently pat dry.

So a good clean lash will make the glue grab onto it well!

Be mindful how you apply the glue on the lash extension. To create a strong and lasting bond gently dip the extension into the glue between 1 and 3 mm don't drag or dab that will create an uneven distribution of glue and will create an uneven bond.

Don't fuss about!!

Once you've applied the glue to the lash extension attach it to the natural lash at the exact angle you desire press and apply the extension to the base of the natural lash this will give you the strongest bond. Hold and release. Don't fuss about by painting or coating the natural lash it's an old technique meant for thicker slower glues. If you remove the last extension from the natural lash after and adhesive has been applied it will create a layer of glue on the lash. You need to be decisive and precise. The glue has a fast setting time and a consistency to match you don't want to weaken the bond and influence their adhesion.

After care

What's interesting is the variation of how people store their glues. Unopened is different to opened.

Once opened the glue should be kept in a cool dry place. Ideally in a glue storage pot which is airtight with the silica pack provided, this will prohibit any moisture going in it. The bottle to remain upright and the lid tightly closed. you will see such a difference in your glues performance if you store your glue the correct way. But don't store with primer or bonder!
