I see it time and time again across social media, People who've tried this glue that glue and the other glue and their retention is still bad. They are what I like to call glue hoppers!

And yet they want to try another glue and yet I hate to say it but it's not the glue!

The chances are we did see for your placement, your prep or your environment that's not right.

So let's break these three down.

First of all start with the environment. What does your hygrometer say? Have you got one? if not you need one you can't expect a glue to work well without one. A Hygrometer reads the moisture that's in the air and the temperature of your room. If your moisture is really high your glue will dry a lot quicker than anticipated, and if you're already going for a really quick drying glue, your glue will dry even quicker, therefore you'll experience pop offs or pop retention or even both. You need to make sure that you've got a hygrometer, and you're using a glue that's suitable for your speed level. The best way to manage your room condition is by using a humidifier and/or dehumidifier if your room conditions vary on a day to day basis.

Preparation is key for great retention. A good lash bath, rinsed with distilled water, primer only if they have really oily lashes, Ph balancer for maximum retention. A glue that suits your working conditions and speed, followed by Superbonder which not only reduces the fumes but also allows the client to get their lashes wet immediately. But acts like a sealant enabling a tighter bond and increases elasticity at the adhesive bonding points. But all this is pointless if your placement is off.

To achieve perfect lash placement takes practise but you need to ensure that the extensions are placed perfectly parallel to the client's natural lashes. If you're unsure if your placement is perfect practise on a dummy head or a sponge this way you can really see the individual lash from all angles. Slightly adjusting your wrist can make a huge difference to your placement. Practise until you are confident and from the side angle they sit flush on the natural lash.

We will get around to doing some videos on lash placement but in the mean time these three things should hopefully help. I ask if you consider yourself to be a glue hopper please contact us so we can try and evaluate what's going wrong.
