So, over the last few months we have been testing lash adhesives manufactured in the UK. Now there are particularly good reasons behind this, and we wanted to explain in detail why I decided to take this route and the outcome.

For us your safety and your client’s safety are #1, top priority, and as a company that is growing and constantly learning, We decided to make the decision to stop importing lash adhesives and work with a UK manufacturer. The main reason this decision was made was due to safety. Lash adhesives or liquids are inhaled by yourselves so as your supplier we need to ensure the products we am supplying to you are as safe as they can be.

The main difference with lash adhesives manufactured in the UK or EU is that the regulations supersede all other countries. They are so stringent that the production of cosmetic grade adhesive complies with the strictest new regulations governing cosmetics. This covers Product Safety, ingredient labelling and assessing these regulations include the EU cosmetics regulation (EU) NO 1223/2009 which outlines what safety information must be compiled in a product information file (PIF), before product is marketed as well as requiring a CPSR (Cosmetic Product Safety Report) before the product can be sold.

One thing that came to my attention was the variations of quality of lash adhesives on the market. It is quite shocking that some use low grade industrial strength cyanoacrylate, which was never intended for humans, but to repair motor vehicles and airplanes and other industrial uses, yet it has been found in lash adhesives being imported, simply because it is a not regulated product. Lash adhesive is still a borderline product as it is still not classed as a cosmetic and therefore it does not need to be tested to a cosmetic standard.

There is also the concern about the high level of additional additives that are in the glues, falsified MDS sheets, honestly the list goes on and these are people’s eyes with which we are dealing with. So, we decided to invest heavily moving our cosmetics firstly over to a UK manufacturer, and then collaborated closely with them to match our new UK glues to our existing range. You get even better glue produced by one of the best worldwide top industry chemists but manufactured here in the UK.

We only want the best products, the best safety regulations, the best, because you deserve the best.
